About
Kalpataru Das was born at Midnapur, W.B, in 1977. He obtained his B.Sc in Chemistry (Hons.) in 1999 and M.Sc in Organic Chemistry in 2001 from the University of Calcutta. He received his Ph.D. in 2008 from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur under the supervision of Prof. Manas K. Ghorai. He worked as a post-doctoral research associate with Prof. Michael Schmittel (2008-2009) at the University of Siegen, Germany. Currently he is working with Prof. Kazushi Mashima and Prof. Takashi Ohshima at the Graduate School of Engineering Science, Osaka University, Japan as Global COE (GCOE) post-doctoral fellow (2009-till date). His current research interest lies on organometallics directed organic synthesis and its applications.
